Captain's Update - Tom Cummings

Dear Members and Friends,

Today marks the end of one era at our great Club - the retirement of our long serving and much respected Club Manager, Tom Cummings.

Tom has played a multitude of important roles over his many years at the Club. During his time he has continuely sought to advise, guide and manage the Clubs affairs to the very highest of standards. He always put the interests of the Club first and formost.

There have been many changes at the Club during Tom's tenure and we are all grateful for the contribution that Tom has made in managing and implementing these changes, he has always remained constant and a solid anchor point for the Club - it's members and all that have served along side Tom.

Tom's knowledge and expertise in Club Management and his standing and connectivity into the broader Golf Management community has been of huge benifit to our Club - as well as the wider golfing community. It will not just be the members at our Club that will miss Tom's contribution to the game of golf,  he will be missed by many in the local and wider area.

In these challenging times we are grateful that Tom has offered to remain contactable for Simon and the Business Council. We will be able to tap into his depth of knowledge where and when required, for that I will remain eternally grateful.

The timing of Tom's planned departure does not unfortunately permit us to recognise and celebrate together his contribution to the Club, it is our full intention that at a later date we will mark this in an appropriate fashion.

In the meantime please raise a (virtual) glass with me on behalf of our Club to acknowledge our deep gratitude and offer Tom our best wishes for his future plans, happines and success.

Yours in Golf

Jim MacNab

Club Captain 2020

Written on behalf of today's Business Council and all Past Captains that took direction and guidance from you, thank you.
